End of the road for the Hummer!!!
As dawn breaks many Chinese firms give the red lights to the GM Hummer. The Hummer sprang up all across the suburban landscapes of America, like futuristic sties for an otherworldly species of giant pig; and now, it seems, they are to be closed up and abandoned for good. It’s unknown what affect it will have to the thriving Limousine Hire market in the UK.
After an interview with the Chairman of Krystal Group, one of the leading limousine hire operators in the UK, Mr. Amjad has shown his utmost sadness for GM and the operators in the UK which will have to suffer the knock on affects. Mr. Amjad said, “this is an award winning limousine and 70% of our business is based around the Hummer and the GM closure news definitely makes things more uncertain for us”.
Mr. Amjad went onto say, “Limousine Companies which own a few Hummer limos might be on a winner as the price will surely go up, as long as the demand for these vehicles stays high”.
Mr Hussain of Exotic Limousines UK said, “This is devastating news for our thriving industry and I am unsure as to what will replace these vehicles and with news laws in force I wonder what one can do to over come many issues in the trade”.
As many people know, Hummer vehicles are popular military vehicles used in the USA and in early 2005 they became very popular in the UK and were stretched quickly by large limousine operators as it was niche then. Now the Hummer limousine is a household name and even the young guns say “Mum is that a Hummer”. Who knows what the future is but its certain The Hummer has no future.
