There are two types of people out there on the Internet right now: Those who know how to Squidoo and those who do not. Those who have spent the time learning how will have a significant advantage over those who haven’t for quite a few reasons. The problem is that there are a lot of people who don’t even know what Squidoo is, so let’s go over that real quick.
As far as what I use it for, Squidoo is a blogging platform, but instead of having multiple posts on one topic, you create what is called a lense. Each lense is focused on one particular topic and is usually broken down into very specific categories that explain the particular topic. These lenses can be used for educational, entertainment, or any other purpose you can really think of. Learning how to Squidoo can be the easiest part, once you have a topic in mind.
A majority of people enjoy images when reading content, but there are a few who do not. Squidoo seems to lean towards using images. All you have to do to create a lense is find a topic that you want to write about, create some written content, get a picture or two, and put it all together using the Squidoo platform. After seeing my example, you should understand how simple using Squidoo is. Even with that being said, you may be wondering why you would ever need to learn how to Squidoo. There is one simple reason for that: Squidoo has a very high page ranking with Google, therefore when you write a quality piece of content and publish it on the Squidoo platform, you are able to get much more traffic than by creating a website yourself.
If you have your own blog, you can even write a Squidoo lense about a particular marketing technique and link it back to your blog. That way, anyone who reads your lense and is interested in what you have to say might click your link and that is absolutely free traffic to your site that took minimal effort. Many top marketers utilize Squidoo for every new product due to the fact of it being a high traffic site.
Picture this: you are releasing your brand new product to the masses and no one knows about it yet. You are preparing your blog post, your social media sites, your email broadcasts, a couple videos and maybe some other marketing techniques. Wouldn’t it be good to have your own Squidoo for your own product before anyone else does? I would think everyone reading this would agree the answer is yes. Everyone who searches for your new product either in Google or Squidoo is highly likely to come across your lense.
